Ways to Serve our Community
Blessings Box
SMK's Blessings Box is located at St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities at the corner of 7th and Market Street in New Albany. It is SMK's commitment to keep it stocked for those in need.
We are looking for families to commit to 2 days a week. We have found that the box is heavily utilized and needs filled quite frequently.
St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities
St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities serve individuals and families in Southern Indiana and Metro Louisville. With a deep respect for all life, they are dedicated to providing physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our community. They provide comfort and quality services to those in need, and strive to foster an attitude of self-sufficiency to each of their clients. St. Vincent de Paul
Our Tri-Parish (St. Mary, Navilleton, St. John the Baptist, and St. Mary of the Knobs) initiative works with SVDP's outreach organizations to meet the social, material and spiritual needs of people in our community. SVDP provides food, clothing, transportation, shelter, and ultimately, sustainable paths out of poverty.
♦ A Collection is taken up during mass at SMK for St. Vincent de Paul in months that have a Fifth Saturday/Sunday.

Community Kitchen
The Jeffersonville Community Kitchen is offering an opportunity to reach outside our comfort zone to provide for the less fortunate. St. Mary of the Knobs has a long history of providing volunteers to staff the Community Kitchen's crews. Volunteers are needed to cook, bake, setup/cleanup and serve meals for the needy in Jeffersonville, IN.

The Burrito Riders
The Burrito Riders' primary task is providing hot, hearty breakfast burritos to communities in need, we actually work to go beyond the burrito. Our goal is to connect with the people that we serve, and to show them, through a building of relationships, that they are valued and respected. We hope to have an opportunity to show them God's love, in a world that sometimes seems unjust, through our actions. Volunteers are needed to prepare burritos.
