2022 Shanty Town

Shanty Town 2022

     On Good Friday from 7:00 pm until 8:00 am Saturday Morning,
20 high school youth, 2 college young adults and 8 adult chaperones
   participated in Shanty Town 2022 beginning with Silhouette Stations of the Cross
and then an overnight lock in of service projects, prayer, reconciliation
and discussing issues surrounding homelessness.

The Service Projects included:
► Making Rosaries to be Sent Overseas
► Making Baby Blankets for St. Elizabeth's
► Making Pet Beds and Toys for the Animal Shelter
► Making Flowers and Cards for the Sick and Elderly
► Making Burritos for the Homeless
► Making Baked Goods for a New Albavy Fire Station

After the activities which included fasting for 10 hours, a prayer service was held early Saturday Morning
outside around a campfire. Then:
► 150 hot burritos were delivered to the St. John Center for the Homeless in Louisville
► A bag of baked goods was delivered to the Fire Station on Daisy Lane in New Albany

The Youth Ministry Activities concluded Easter Sunday Morning with the Easter Egg Hunt after the 10:30 Mass.
