Your past, present and future.

St. Mary of the Knobs

Listen to Fr. Mike's message for the Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time --"Life Long Learning".

One Can, One Prayer

This past weekend. Rick Kopple, the Director of the Community Kitchen in Jeffersonville spoke at all the Masses. He told of the Kitchen’s volunteer efforts in feeding the area poor. For several years members of our parish have volunteered their time and resources to assist in providing 50,000 meals annually.
I propose that each St. Mary’s family donate once a quarter just ONE can of vegetables. The vegetables: are asked to be beans, corn, carrots NOT spinach. In addition to his ONE can, offer a prayer for those in our area who are struggling in life. ONE CAN, ONE PRAYER! Often we may be attempted to go out and buy a case of green beans and be done with it for the rest of the year. OOPS not so fast! ONE CAN, ONE PRAYER per quarter forces us to think of the poor. We will collect your one can on the first Sunday of Lent. This collection will not be just a Lenten thing it will be four times a year. ONE CAN, ONE PRAYER!
